Huehuetenango has the best coffees in Guatemala. Period. The problem with Huehue is that farmers have had no price incentive to produce high quality coffee. This takes knowledge, passion, effort and grit and without a partner on the other side, most producers do not want to invest the effort to produce better coffee - and I totally get that. Thankfully, forward thinking producers like Urisar de Leon are starting to lead the way for the region and serve as an example for many of the other producers.
