TED + Phil & Sebastian

TED + Phil & Sebastian

We are extremely excited about sponsoring one of the coffee bars at this year’s TED Conference in Vancouver as organized by World Coffee Events. Over the last few years, TED has teamed up with some of the top coffee professionals around the world to provide a coffee experience capturing the spirit and philosophy of TED. The purpose of this was, and is, to share the amazing stories in coffee with those attending TED.

This year, TED has moved to Vancouver and as such, the coffee program will have a strong Canadian flavour. We are proud to show TED attendees that Canada has truly world-class coffee and to work alongside the other great Canadian roasters that will be there. We will be sponsoring one of the coffee bars for the week and brewing some of our best coffees. This year, our goal is to intentionally expose TED attendees to a wide spectrum of our unique coffee origins, from exotic and fruity flavour profiles to more familiar and approachable. For espresso, we will be alternating between Gedeb from Ethiopia and Guzman Brothers from Colombia. For filter coffee, we are offering our Celia Condori from Bolivia, Gedeb from Ethiopia, Carlos Aguilera from Panama, and Kabingara AA from Kenya. We will have one coffee in the morning and a different origin and flavour profile in the afternoon, with all of our coffees rotating throughout the week. Additionally, in the spirit of discovery and idea sharing, Jeremy has planned several mini-tastings, workshops, and talks throughout the week on topics like roasting, home brewing methods, extraction variables, and the value of relationships with coffee producers.

This will be Jeremy’s second time at TED and he’s really excited to be a part of it again. It is a fantastic experience to work with extraordinary coffee professionals from different companies, serving great coffee from around the world to an audience ready to learn and share ideas. Jeremy will be updating us on all he’s doing during the week in Vancouver so be sure to follow our Twitter (@philandseb) and Instagram (@philandseb).
