The specialty coffee industry is still young and developing. Based in Calgary, Canada, we’re positioning ourselves to be at the forefront of the whole industry. Not just raising the bar relative to large coffee chains, but raising the bar as compared to the best artisan, specialty coffee roasters in the world, including continuously raising our own bar.

We want our coffee producing partners to thrive. This is why we pay well above the industry average for our green coffee, share knowledge from our partners, and invest in projects on the ground at coffee origin.

Let’s be honest, a high quality standard is difficult to maintain. It naturally erodes in time, and takes direct, continuous effort to maintain, and even more effort to increase and evolve. But this effort is worth it. It’s in our DNA, and the aspiration to pursue quality is what gets us up each morning.

We fundamentally believe in a culture of respect, compassion and accountability. Respect means that if a team member makes a mistake then we don’t “call them out” or shame them, but rather, we work together to prevent the mistake in the future.

Phil Robertson
Phil co-founded P&S in 2007 in Calgary, Canada. His unrelenting obsession remains improving coffee quality from seed to cup. Leveraging his engineering background, he designed their one-of-a-kind roasting machine and wrote software that impacts every aspect of the business, from order fulfillment to coffee menus. Among his duties, he manages QC and training, roasting operations, technology, online sales and marketing, vision, strategy, business development, and travels to Africa to buy green coffee. His wife, Jenna, and their three kiddos support (aka lovingly tease) him every step of the way.
SEBASTIAN SZTABZYB
Sebastian co-founded P&S in 2007, in Calgary, Canada. Fueled by a love of both coffee and entrepreneurship. Sebastian collaborates with Phil on most duties, but focuses on directing the cafes, traveling to buy green coffee in Central and South America, and managing company finances. Sebastian and his wife, Emily, have three energetic children: Annie, Leo, and Casper.
