Feature Partner: Mountain Mercato

To continue our series on spotlighting outstanding cafes we’re proud to partner with, meet Mountain Mercato located in beautiful Canmore, Alberta.

Mountain Mercato opened its doors almost nine years ago and was founded by owner Raegan Fodor. Raegan is a “Banff girl, born and bred” who was in the midst of completing a nursing degree when the opportunity came up to start Mountain Mercato. As an entrepreneur at heart, she wanted “to bring fantastic and unique food products to Canmore, and create a niche for Canmore locals and Albertan weekenders with a one-stop-shop experience for grabbing lunch, a coffee, and ingredients for dinner all in one place.”

About seven years ago, co-owner Elana Levin partnered with Raegan. A trained, red seal chef with almost twenty years of culinary experience, Elana has done an amazing job at developing a quality-focused menu in-house as well as a robust catering menu.

We’ve worked closely with Mountain Mercato since 2012, and have helped to build a quality coffee program in the heart of the Rockies. Their coffee menu includes many similar items found at our own cafes, including the Dulce Latte, made with real dulce de leche, and the Manjari Mocha, made with 64% dark chocolate originating in Madagascar. Their staff are always enthusiastic and engaged while being knowledgeable and informed about coffee.

Earlier this month, we had the chance to spend the day at Mountain Mercato to meet their customers. It was great to be able to meet and chat with so many of their customers on a busy Saturday, and we can’t wait to go back.
