We are so proud of David and Aimee for their hard work and showing at the Canadian National Barista Championships in Edmonton this past weekend. Aimee took 5th overall, and David took 2nd! Congrats to Ben Put, the winner, who goes on to represent Canada in South Korea next month. I had the privilege and challenge of head judging on Saturday, and I can honestly say that this was the highest level of competition I’ve experienced in the 9 years that I’ve been involved in national competitions.

Big kudos to all of the competitors from across Canada who had the courage to step up and put themselves out there, in front of their industry peers. I also want to offer a huge thanks to all of the judges who continue to take time out of their busy schedules to make these competitions possible. I especially want to recognize Mike Strumpf and Josh Hockin for their invaluable contributions as well as all of the members of the newly formed @canada_sca.
